The Ayalon Valley, midway between Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, produces most of the almonds grown in Israel. Almond culture made its way westward via the Mediterranean coasts of Italy, Spain and France, and left behind it a tradition of sweets and baked goods...and now a wonderful, creamy, almond oil moisturizing soap.
Our Shalom! is a beautiful white creamy almond oil soap that will produce a luxurious lather. It deep cleans your face and body without drying it out. It can be used as a shampoo bar, too. One lather and you're through, no need for conditioners.
Ingredients: Almond Oil, Palm and Coconut Oils, Lye, Water.

"Shalom! Almond Trees in Bloom," by Rebecca Kissel |
|
|
Artists' Note: This was probably the most fun little watercolor I painted for our soap. In Georgia we have peach and cherry trees that bloom in spring, but I had to hunt for pictures of almond trees in bloom. I painted it very small so that in the reproduction the brush strokes could still be seen. I don't paint many watercolors, mostly oil paint or pastel chalk, but I love the freshness of watercolor, too. If you would like to see more of my work, click here.
